You are right. I am not in the mood to spend one minute longer of my time on
auto232. If it is a pure DOS problem has to be seen. There is no single
evidence pointing in that direction.

There is. But think of the consequences. The reliability of auto-playing is on
stake here. Auto-playing is used to measure the strength of chess programs.
90% of games published here and elsewhere comes from auto232. Imagine
we drop auto232. We would return to the dark ages. Horrible view to look for.

You will have a very hard (and long) time to proof that. Note that the case you
described only occurred to me twice (as far as I can tell of course). I claim
you aren't able to reproduce the Rebel case you had. It happens rarely and is
IMO not reproducible.
