Answers what question? If it is your question from the above, "do pc chess
programs play at a GM level at tournament time controls..." then again
I say it will never answer that question. How could it, since the program
is not even playing in a tournament? The emphasis is the distinction between
match play vs tournament play.

I think each program should stand on its own, therefore allowing for the
individuality of each programmer. The other programs will have to come out of
the woodwork and show us what they can do vs human GMs. This goes back to the
old "cherry picking" theme of a few (or one in this case) representing the many.

Not too long ago Ferret racked up a 4-0 score vs GMs
at a decent game/30 time control.
It somehow does not seem fair to Bruce Moreland's efforts that we now conclude
"all programs will whoop the GMs at game/30". Maybe he has some unique stuff in
his program that makes it that much different than another program.
