In addition, Dr. Hyatt is fairly adamant that his program should never be run in single machine tournaments because of the time control algorithms he uses. It is interesting to me that Crafty seemed to be doing better as time went on. I would be astonished if such a rapid change could be due to book learning, since only a few games went on. It would be interesting to see what happens after a few thousand games like this to see if it really is a trend or if it is just another one of those anomalies in probability.
