It would be very timely to post the Chessmaster 7000 issue as a CCC poll question(s), to determine whether it works generally OK, or is generally buggy. Obviously it works OK for some, but not for others. The question is -- what proportion? 50:50 75:25 90:10 99:1 It would also be helpful to know something about the computer system in each case, if that could be worked into the poll questions, particularly the processor type/speed and op system (Windows version). Also if various options were selected during the install process, particularly Quicktime and DirectX. And what kind of installation was performed -- minimum, typical, or complete. If it can't be worked into the official CCC poll, maybe it would be acceptable to run a special thread on CCC for that purpose, asking people to post in a certain location within the thread according to the above variables. --JRM
