I totally disagree. Chessmaster is a great program. Releasing 7000 with so many bugs is of course a horrible mistake, but do not forget who it targets. Chessmaster is geared towards the general market, not addicts like us. It has all the bells and whistles and an engine that is among the best. It is like a 4-door sedan with a Porsche engine in it and sold as a family car. I like what I get from CM. Earlier versions were OK for their purpose, but after 4000 they narrowed the gap between themselves and professional chess software while keeping the price same. That is something to thank them for. Most of us would not buy 7000 because it has the same engine with 6000, but most of its target customers would buy it just for the visual change, like the kids' room and stuff like that .
