I already had the lastest (even later than what is offered with CM7K), like so many others also who seem to have no problems. I would suggest you keep directX and qiucktime, due to the fact so many other programs use them. They will come in handy, I think it is the other driver that are loaded which cause problem. I got allot of DLL missing files and errors in my experience.
