I keep engine settings on defaults. The book is general.ctg which came on the CD. I had also installed the earlier upgrade (picked it month ago from the CB site). As to how many games you need to avoid repetition, that depends how early you get out of the book, as well as which opening it picks to play. E.g. if you play 1.e4 and it plays 1...Nc6 (which it did regularly when the book learning was on; it stopped it only after I reinstalled thwe book and made the book files read only), well, you got very few choices from here. I also like to take it out of the book early, to let it work its own plan of game against my plan. Playing out a long line out of the book is like going over someone elses game, it's much less fun.
