It sounds like what happened to Paul Morphy when he wanted to play Mr. Staunton and was rejected. That happened over one hundred years ago and most of us have forgotten that. I am sure that this too will be forgotten. IBM doesn't have to play anyone at computer chess. Mr. Schroder on the other hand must convince his buying public that his program is among the best. Dr. Hsu isn't motivated by the same needs as these little programmers. IBM has many options and really can't be coerced to fulfill the wishes of any small company. Tim Frohlick
