They invented open source (you can get the OS source on microfilm) It's even more of a geek's OS than UNIX (I realize) and has absolutely no chance whatsoever with the general public. The only problem with OpenVMS is that the license fees are too high. In particular, if you have a high performance system, they can be truly ludicrous in comparison with similar licences for approximately equivalent UNIX systems.
