There is a very thought provoking book available on line at http://www.hip.atr.co.jp/~degaris/artilectwar.html My major criticism is that since it is written by a scientist who is trying to reproduce the human brain, the chapter about how AI will enable machine intellect to match the human level focuses too much on literally reproducing the human brain. Those of us who follow computer chess KNOW that there's more than one way to create an attribute of intellect (in this case, chess playing ability). Regards, Graham
