CM7000 offers to install DirectX, Quicktime, and new video drivers. In fact the installation wizard says those things are "REQUIRED". However that is definitely not true! They are not required, and you should be very careful about accepting those options!!! As a result some CM7000 multimedia features may not be available, but... Be very careful! Not all computers are compatible with those things, and they could damage your system. Please note in particular that DirectX is NOT UNINSTALLABLE. Once you've got it, you've got it forever. If it messes up your computer, your only alternative is to start over again from scratch, reformat your hard drive, reinstall your operating system, etc. Quicktime is maybe less dangerous, but uninstalling it will probably still leave some unwanted residues on your system. Replacing your video drivers should always be done only with great care. If you read this, you have now been warned! --JRM
