I plan on ordering the first week of november provided i get my check from the
VA. If i ordered now tops i could get would be an athlon 600 which is about
twice as fast as a K6-2 400!!! so to give everybody an idea whatever the clock
speed of an athlon you can easily state that if you have a K6-2 as fast you
would have to add atleast 100-200Mhz, athlon 600 = K6-2 800.... i've looked at
cpumark results for the 700 (64.4) about 2.74x faster than my K6-2 300 running
at 100. maybe 82Knps on the 700. Instead of nolot pos 1 taking 30 minutes to
finish 9 ply complete it will take about 10. Still a bit to long to wait. and
47minutes to finish 10 ply. A 1.4Ghz machine would do it in about 23minutes, a
2.8 Ghz machine in 12 minutes, a 5.6Ghz 5.8 minutes , and with a 11.6Ghz machine
2.9 minutes. if you hold out for any new processor wait for that one or untill
they get better software:)
