Analysis:
Elisabeth Pähtz (Ba4)

My move is 4. Ba4. Hasta la vista, by 3.Bb5 the "Ruy" grabs the bull by the
horns. I was very glad Germany didn't choose the Italian Pizza (3.Bc4).
Personally I prefer the Spanish Opening -- not only because I will fly to the
Junior WC in Spain a week from now. I propose Bb5-a4. Alternatively, the
exchange 4.Bb5xc6 is possible, too. However, I prefer a menu with several
courses over one main course.

GM Reiner Knaak (4.Ba4)

I propose 4.Ba4. This move seems to be forced. Fischer, and Lasker before him,
experimented successfully with the Exchange Variation 4.Bxc6, but today good
methods of defense against it are known.

Murugan Thiruchelvam (Ba4)

Germany should play 4.Ba4. I don't like the Exchange Variation with 4.Bxc6,
since it's boring, especially in the endgame. After 4.Ba4 White usually controls
the center and gets attacking chances on the king side. I play this whenever I
can.
