However, I do not agree with your criticism. The exact how of the creation of such constructs is not the main point of concern. My concern (I guess I am a Terran) is that it appears to be inevitable that this type of thing will eventually occur (in one form or another). Personally, I am not exactly pleased with the idea that my grandchildren or great-grandchildren may drop a notch on the food chain (figuratively). It's bad enough that powerful people have always been able to make powerful decisions which adversely effect others. This alternative has the potential to be much much worse. I would recommend that everyone on this forum read this article in it's entirety (it's about 100 pages I think, so it is long) and make up their own mind. Although this is not really computer chess related (only in an oblique AI sort of way), I am glad you brought it to our attention Graham. KarinsDad :|
