Astrology? Tea leaves? Because he _certainly_ isn't going to get to study 'rebel'. Since it is a moving target, with different setting every game, with new book lines being added. Exactly what is he going to study to help? Anti-computer strategy? He would do this anyway. But prepare specific openings? Won't work. Notice a king safety issue in the last game? No good now, the eval has been adjusted. I don't see how he can prepare for an opponent that is essentially unknown for each game. GM players play crafty 100 games in a single day. For 10 days in a row. Would you expect them to do better the last 100 games than the first? Doesn't happen, because when I notice a 'trend' I fix it quickly.
