Thanks for correction. That is what I used to get B=4.5-4.7, but mistyped it in
the message, since I was also caluclating what depth it would reach in a fixed
time, assuming B=3 that Bob gave and N given as number of seconds times typical
Crafty's nps rate (which is 200kN/s on my machine). The formula for that was
D=ln(N)/ln(B) [that's what I mistyped earlier, with D and B interchanged]. After
that gave me depths which didn't ring true, I went and measured exact N for
fixed D (10, 11 and 12 plies) and obtained those figures for B (using the
formula yiou gave).
