Some players are stronger on a screen than on a real board, but these are most likely young GMs who train extensively looking at a computer screen. From the older generation of GMs, I'd expect everyone to be better on a real board. I don't know what the difference in ELO is, but it could go in either direction. This is similar to how older people read analog displays five times faster than digital ones (e.g. car speedometers), but younger people read digital displays at least as quickly.
