Seems to be tied in with some of their features. ChessBase 7, Internet version needs At least IE 4 because of its download feature for TWIC (The Week In Chess), and now one of the new Fritz6 items, is a 'direct publish to the Internet' feature. On the Chess Base Page there is a note about the ChessBase companies decision to tie these products into way IE4 and higher operate, which is different from IE 3 and below.
