Hmmm....   Not sure if Dan is using FAT or FAT32, but unless he's
got the tb's in his root directory, the problem isn't that he's
reached the maximum number of files in a directory.  For FAT
file systems, the file limit is 512 (root), and 65,535 for nonroot.
For FAT32, there are no limits.

Does the tb code leave all the files open?  Perhaps you've reached
that limit.  I think you can bump this up via a regedit.
