Of course many programs today seem to be using IE4/5 and Netscape as part of their programs. When I bought the Britannica Encyclopedia I was surprised that I had to have Netscape installed for it to work. It worked off the CD off-line through Netscape, but you could get more on-line. No, I didn't know this before I bought it. From what I understand Photosuite-ll uses IE5 for much of its stuff. There are others that I have read about. I guess there must be some advantage to using these browser languages. But I think a program should be a stand-alone. I don't know why someone should have to install Netscape just to use a program that has nothing to do with the internet. Of course, if you have Windows98 you don't have much choice--you get the IE browser whether you want it or not. But as far as the Britannica goes, when using it, it will boot up your Netscape browser, so you'd better have it. Incidently, their interface stinks!
