I'm on your side, I don't mind if the program does need a browser for maybe one
or two features that I might not even use, that's no big deal, but the program
itself should be able to be used independed of browsers to a very large extent,
and it's not clear to _me_ if that's what is happening.  I feel that I should be
able to buy and run the program even if I have no browser at all, but I don't
know if that's the case.
