As far as I know, there were two ways to "update" the chessmachine. IIRC, one way was to install more Ram on it, the first versions only had 128kB of Ram, the later ones had 512kb. The second way to update was by software. I think TASC sold these updates on disk. Are you really sure you want to buy one? I guess you should try it first, to make sure that it really works in your computer. These things were made a long time ago, when the fastest PC's were 80386 or so, before the PCI bus was born and so on. And here comes the ultimate idea to "update" the Chessmachine: Just don't buy it, but buy Rebel Century and Chessmaster 7000 instead! Why? Because the program in "Chessmachine Schröder" is a predecessor of Rebel, written by Rebel's author Ed Schröder, and the program in "Chessmachine The King" is a predecessor of the King engine in Chessmaster, written by Johan de Koning. (If you knew this already, please excuse me.) Greetings, Heiko.
