Does something similar happen in shorter mating problems with Averno too?
(E.g. claims mate in 3 to be mate in 5 or something.)

The older version of Nero 5 (in Gambit-Soft downloads) calculated the
solution in less than a second using some 2600 nodes only, because it
looks first for this kind of forced lines. Current version took some 15
seconds. CM3000 and Colossus took so much time that I interrupted them
because I got tired to wait... When I gave them the first move, they found
quite soon the mate in 5.
