It suddenly occurred to me that Dann is correct. The outcome was pretty much a foregone conclusion. The reason is that the "World Team" DOES consist of everyone who wants to participate. This includes ballot stuffers who want to see the World Team lose. With this in mind, it almost seems inevitable that someone out there would be smart enough and malicious enough to through a monkey wrench into the game, regardless of how well Microsoft would have attempted to prevent cheating. Therefore, the World Team consists of saboteurs as well as people seriously interested in taking on the champion. The reason the World Team lost (a foregone conclusion at this point unless Kasparov dies or something) is because it is the World Team. KarinsDad :)
