I seriously doubt that "deep blue junior" will be the name Hsu uses on anything
he markets.  For one reason, it will be far different than the "deep blue
junior" that has played hundreds of games already.  And the other is that I
suspect IBM would protect the name "deep blue" so that it isn't seen as
something old and washed up...

As far as trademarks go, I haven't trademarked Crafty, nor Cray Blitz, and
don't really think I would need to go to the non-trivial expense of doing so
(I applied for a US-only trademark many years ago for a logo for a company
I and a friend of mine formed.  It cost us about $1,000 US to get the trademark
registered and finally approved.  International trademarks supposedly cost more
as they require that foreign data banks be searched as well...

Not for chess, as I don't think it is worth the cost.
