Hi - I just got the book, 'Test, Evaluate and Improve Your Chess', by Danny Kopec & Hal Terrie. It looks like a pretty cool book, which includes the so-called, Bratko-Kopec test for earlier chess programs. My questions are, 1. Is this still one of the best test for chess programs. (Are there now better test positons?). 2. Who is this book intended for - Chess player's who are trying to improve their understanding of thematic or importent chess positions, or Chess player's who want to test their programs, or both. Maybe this is the first book intended for the market of, 'computer's trying to improve their game' -:) I've only been looking through this book for a short while, but I'm very impressed. It looks like a very well-written book of 'drill material', with a lot of explanatory text. Still, I'm much interested in other's opinions... Larry - the chess software/book addict!
