Working in the IT business, I see this kind of crap all the time - Javascript
that works perfectly in 9 out of 10 browsers, but there's always one that barfs
up (mostly IE 3, IE 4 or NN 4.0x).
This specific problem is beyond my control as it is due to my ISP's handling of
frames... :(

The contest itself is managed through another server which is independent of the
main web server and its Javascript. Once it has processed a submitted entry, it
sends you back to the main page on the web server, and that is the one that
produced the above error.
However, your submission should have been parsed; otherwise you would either
have received an error on connection to the contest machine ("cannot connect")
or a script error from the contest parser.

The whole website has been intensively tested on all kinds of browsers. Works
perfectly offline, but throws up online sometimes due to the ISP's Javascript.
