I get the same results running a DOS box from Windows 98 or booting into DOS at
startup. I have had success with boosting refresh rates with SciTech Display
Doctor and older 2D video adapters, but haven't found the 'courage' to turn SDD
loose on my ASUS 3D video system.

This issue is not limited to Rebel as my older Chess Genius 2 has the same
symptom.
