Just about every computer program will play better with a faster processor,
assuming you are using a setting that makes full use of processor speed. Lower
settings, such as a fixed ply depth or others that may cripple certain
optimizations, will probably not benefit from a faster machine.

As for Chessmaster, it has been shown that faster machines result in higher
ratings for personalities that don't have maximums set in their search depths.
So, some personalities will be stronger, others will stay about the same
strength.
