Subject: Speaking of Time Management

Last night I let Rebel Century on the K6-3 play against Hiarcs 7.32 on the PII.
This morning the 2nd game was on when I woke up and this position was reached
with black (Hiarcs 7.32) to move.
8/2RK2kp/8/3Q4/r5r1/8/8/8 b
Here is what then happened. Hiarcs 7.32 at the 28 minute mark had found this
variation: 45....Kf8 46 Kc8 Ra6 47 Rf7+ Kg8 48 Re7+ Kf8 49 Rd7 Rc4+ 50 Qxc4 Rb6
51 Rf7+ Kg8 52 Re7+ Kf8 53 Rd7 Rc6+ +/- (#26) (Calling Mate in 26 on itself)
Hiarcs did not stop here! At the 42 minute mark, Rebel gave up and reset itself
which immediately caused it to crash. At the 45 minute mark Hiarcs reset itself
and the GUI gave the message "Time out in game #2". I guess there is a limit
even to a computer's patience!
But that's not even the best part. Take a look at Hiarcs 7.32 variation. It is
absolute nonsense. I guess the win goes to Rebel Century even though it does
not have tablebases and there is a possibility it could have ended up with a
Queen vs a rook ending which it cannot win.
