So far it works just great on my ACER 200 MhZ Pentium (32Meg ram), and also on
my 200 Mhz, CTX Notebook (24 Meg ram). When installing I had no problem
accepting the install of QuickTime, but when the program install said, 'ActiveX,
this is needed by the program - Install?' I clicked on no or cancel (or
whatever its called), and preceded with both a minimal install on one computer,
and a typical install on the other.
I like the program. Its look is superior to the previous version, and I enjoy
the various tutorials (even though I'm not likely to look at them too much, as
I'm a strong player, and have many other programs/tutorials to 'diddle around
with'). One thing I found was that Pandolfini's tutorial are basically just
material derived from his various books. ('Winning Ways' & Traps & Zaps 1 & 2
are two that I spotted). Also, I think it has many more 'classic games'
annotated in some detail then previous versions. Or maybe accessing this part
of the database is just easier than I remember.
One feature in this incarnation that seems to be missing is the 'Rate Your
Play'. I really liked this in prevous versions, but I didn't find it here
(yet?).
A question for user's (& experts on CD Production), that have had CM7000 mess up
their systems. Is it possible that Mindscape produced a 'bad batch', and these
customer's were the very unlucky ones to get that batch first?
