Dear Paulo,
I fully agree with your analysis above. 2...b5 is not winning due to 8.Kd4! as
you correctly pointed out. Thank you for contribution! I was not able to proove
a win for black. On the other side your 2...b6 is indeed winning, as the pawn is
not so exposed to white's King attacks as on b5. Nevertheless there is another
winning move in 2...Ng8 leaving the b7 pawn at home and concentrating on
blockading the white pawns first.
A sample line would run:
1...Ke5 2. Ke3 Ng8! 3.f4+ Kd6 4.Kd4 Ne7 and now
A) 5.e5+ Kc6 6.Ke4 Kc5 7.f5 Nc6 8.e6 (8.f6 Nd8) Kd6 -+
B) 5.f5 Nc6+ 6.Kc4 Ne5+ 7.Kb5 Nd7 8.Kc4 (8.f6 Kc7 9.f7 Nf8 -+) b6 9.Kb5 Kc7
10.Kc4 Kc6 -+
C) 5.Kc4 Ng6!
C1) 6.e5+ Kc6 -+
C2) 6.f5 Ne5+ 7.Kd4 b5 8.Kc3 Kc5 -+
C3) 6.Kb5 Kc7 7.f5 Ne7 8.f6 (8.Kc5 b6+ 9.Kd4 Kc6 10.f6 Ng6 11.e5 Nf8 -+) Ng6
9.Kc5 b6+ 10.Kd5 Kd7 11.e5 Nf8 12.Kc4 Kc6 -+
Hope I did not overlook something.
Greetings Alex
