Sorry for you non-fishing folks in the Pacific NorthWest. :) "trolling" is a style of fishing where you hang some bait on a line, and drag it up and down the lake/river/whatever, while you sit in the boat and do something else, generally. You have no idea what you are going to catch, you are willing to take anything. The other style of fishing, I call "normal" fishing. You target a particular specie, choose the right bait, choose reasonable locations, and go after that particular kind of fish. The term "troll" is well-known to fishermen, and that is where it got its name on the internet. Throw something out and see if you get a bite...
