Dear Dgeordge:
I hate to disagree with you, but I must. I think you forget one esential aspect
of this human effort to reach the truth: it is a collective endeavour and
because it is, our parcial views of reality collide with each other, gets a more
or less of approval of the human kind and so you can supersede just your
individual point of view and get in that way a kind of objetivity, if also
parcial and of transient validity. The is not like to say "I see things in such
a way and that's my truth", because you live with another people that more or
less can ponder your vision with his own, to compare and so to discriminate
between different individual visions to conclude wich is more rich, complete,
truhful. When a man, on the contrary, stuck to "his" vision no matter what, we
have something different to sincerity, we have maybe self deception, we have a
created interest, we have bad conscience, we are looking an effort not to reach,
but to elude reality and truth. I know that to be coherent in time with what you
think tends to be considered a test of sincerity, etc, but is all the
contrary. That old saying "this is my truth" awaken in me the utmost suspictions
about the guy who say it.
