The offshoot of the 360 (later 370) series is the IBM 3090, which you can get today. I'd get an RS/6000 series instead I think, which is a different instruction set. Registers were 32 bits with 24 bits useable at first, later all 32 bits became usable (which caused a lot of problems for people who were using the chummy hack of using the unused bits for their own purposes).
