I'm not sure about Saitek and a few others, but I swear by
Novag dedicated computers. I bought one second hand about 12
years ago. I don't use it much nowadays, but it is yet to fail
me. The adaptor cord broke, that's all. Novag seemed to have a
reputation for giving most of their playing strength on the
quick levels,unlike some of the others.
Steer well clear of Fidelity machines.
