I think it is time for moderators to get together and start doing something about the current battles in CCC. Many of these fights are from people well respected in the chess community and also former Moderators. You would think these people should know how to behave themselves, manybe being former moderators they forget themselves and how they should behave. This situation was clearly going to happen, I sent a email off to the moderators days ago warning to get rid of some posts that would escalate this situation. I considered the post I complained about a attack on a fellow member, but nothing was done. We now have a bum fight between quite a few people now, on more than a few different things. I do not know about you guys, but it is getting boring and what will happen is that the moderators will start to kick butt to late (which it already is) and this will escalate things even higher. The moderators should have taken action when I complained about it, so now they will most likely have to pay the price for their actions. Karinsdad has now given Amir a final warning, and Amir has send back a post that will either cause a moderator to back down or Amir to get the flick from CCC. Karinsdad fell into the trap of attacking Amir back in public, when he could have given him a harsh warning via email. So both are in the wrong and one will either have to back down, or one will have to go. Which would be a shame. I fail to understand why moderators cannot determine what is abuse of a fellow member. They seem to think that unless you swear and call someone a fool or idiot, than anything else is fine. I think that many posts talking about the integrity of people and what they do with computer chess like for what has been written about bob and crafty of ICC is abuse and should have been gotten rid of. But on the other hand bob attacking a person who got something wrong about crafty is also abuse in my eyes. That was the post I complained to get rid of, now we have an overflow of fight coming from that thread. I blame the lack of action of moderators for this, and I am gland that we have this rule where we can write Moderation in the title and air these opinions and thoughts of fellow members. And I hope that the moderators do not get defensive and start doing silly things, like some moderators in the past have, and have caused more trouble. No need to start deleting left, right and center, but you guys are going to have to do something. Either way I think the time will come when this is going to turn into a full blown moderation fight where CCC members start attacking the moderators, and I hope that you guys do not crack under the pressure. I suggest you get together and find some solutions. I and many saw all this comming. Either way you will lose in this situation I think.
