Go up one level in this thread

We have acted and continue to act, just not in the way you have chosen for us to
act. We have made follow-on posts begging for restraint. We have made
suggestions to take the matter to email. We have emailed relevant parties.

Your annoyance is (I believe) that we did not remove the threads. I actually
suggested doing so, but wiser heads prevailed. Quite frankly, removing a thread
or post is quite a drastic act. Really, it should only be done for something
that is fairly outrageous. You will find (as we have) that a fairly enormous
outpouring of rage occurs when any post is removed, even one that is obviously
pretty inane. Hence, to remove a post or thread, I think it should really be
pretty blatant.

For those who disagree, there are always these options:
0. Get rid of the moderators and select new ones who will do better
1. Stop reading the posts that annoy you
2. Send feedback to the moderators on exactly which post you want to be removed
and exactly why you think it should be removed using the CCC moderator request
form (that does not mean that what you want to happen will happen, but if enough
people make the same request it probably will be done in a way that is pleasing
to them)
3. Take the high ground and start a new and interesting thread so that we can
talk about computers and chess instead of bickering over trivialities.

Plus many more, I am sure.
