Most people who were active on the MS BBS were quoting analysis from Crafty and
to a lesser extent Fritz. But remember there were probably many thousand voting
most of whom never said a word in the online conferences so the 'world team'
could have been using just about anything they wanted, including programs not in
the public domain (obviously I accept Bruce's statement about his particular
program). I don't recall anyone mentioning in public any SMP Crafty analysis, I
ran Crafty on a 633Mhz alpha box and the depth of analysis I got seemed roughly
in line with what others were reporting.

On the original point about the mate in 25 claim from Kasparov I thought that
was pretty suspect too.
