What happens is that when you post a measage, at the bottom of the compose page there's a spot for you to paste a url into and under that you HAVE to put a title for the url and then it will show up as a link. I've often wished that there was something like that here, but I don't really mind that there isn't because it's still easy to copy from the text of a post and paste it into the browser's location spot.
