Subject: Features needed by most/all chess programs

It is a shame that none of the programs available today allow you to pause the
analysis of a game. Let's say you've started analyzing a game, and you want to
go online. You have to put your program into the background, and dilute the
strength of the engine (assuming you are not using ply-depth analysis). What
about a nice little pause/resume button that you can hit before/after you've
read your e-mail?

The same goes for pausing a game in progress. You should be able to stop the
program, then come back the next day and finish where you left off... A few
programs offer a feature like this, but many do not (i.e. they forget the game
time, or force you to assign a result to the game).
