That works great. Do we type in the links in the standard html format? Any
special restriction with the parser? Let me try this:

Probably better not to rely on the background color since users can override
that in their browser (as I always do) and make everything invisible. Dark and
light empty squares plus 24 pieces (doubled for the two square backgrounds), for
total of 26 gif files would work fine. When posting replies it probably doesn't
need picture in the quoted format, i.e. that could be removed when stuffing the
editor window. Also some override convention would be good to have, maybe if FEN
starts on the 1st column or up to some column (say 4-th) then it displays,
otherwise it is left alone. Or perhaps some override character (like quoting
symbol on the 1st column) as prefix to be left as is.

Then you need help link for the syntax of the new features.
