Long answer: I think it important that everyone who cares about computer chess should contribute in some manner. This is not that difficult of a way to do that. However, at the same time, I have earned both animosity and respect from different people here. So, I feel sad that some people take moderation so seriously that they have hard feelings while at the same time, it feels good when an occasional person says thanks. I think the most difficult thing for me to have learned doing this is that everyone thinks differently. No matter how I read a message, someone else has a drastically different take on it. So, there is always the possibility of conflict. Many people think of moderators as people who delete nasty messages. But, in reality, moderators are people who attempt to smooth out rough edges so that everyone can communicate and get along. KarinsDad :)
