Well, it could have been ChessMaster... After last year's good results,that was The King 3.0 that won the tournament one full point ahead, after it, Fischer alike, lost the first two games. He said last year:" An enormous list of cosmetic errors, many experimental ideas, the hope of doing better on a new processor, K6 350 MHz on which it was developed and the necessary dose of courage resulted after four months in version 3.0 just in time for the tournament of course. Net result: cleaner code, a shorter list of ideas and a little faster in positions per second. Luckily its playing style remained intact." I think Johan was right in asking good conditions for his program. I have really no idea if there are any plans for his engine to become commercially available.. Maybe others know more?
