I don't have the fast machine or the tablebases at home, so I can't look at the
position any more. Maybe I will let it think for a while later.

I operated Insomniac. Josef Zwinger (he provided the hardware) copied the moves
to the score sheet as they were played.

I had a good time at the event; lots of fun. I'm too tired to think of anything
to say, so maybe in a day or two I can provide more information.

The draw with Diep was interesting; Bxb4 really surprised Vincent. He was
connected to ICC and told me for the next 20 moves that every program thought
black was completely lost. Rxe8 was especially criticized as a bad move. It
can't have been that bad, as a few moves later the position was obviously drawn.
:)

Against Quest, Insomniac spoiled an excellent defensive effort by first
declining the Bishop/Knight trade and then later with the blunder Qxa3. Neither
program realised black was lost until two moves later (Quest was actually toying
with the idea of a draw by repetition), but things then went downhill rapidly. A
spectator suggested black play Bf6; I set up the position again and it takes
Insomniac 17 minutes on the P500 to play this move.

The win against GoldBar was cool; a move or two before GoldBar resigned,
Insomniac announced mate in 11. :)

Zzzzzz and Xenix really scared me. Xenix had a fantastic position before it
blundered with Qg8??, and Zzzzzz looked like it would easily hold the draw. This
game was the longest of the final round, so there were a lot of spectators; I
was happy with the speculative Bxf2+!. It was a nice way to end the tournament.
