It is up to the engine to decide when to send a new node count to the Fritz
interface. Most engines do this when considering a new root move - among these
is probably Hiarcs. Nimzo-7.32 seems to send it periodically, Comet once per
iteration and whenever a new best move was found.

Thus, what you have observed, is probably not a bug.
