A giant question, I think someone will point you to references in the web.

In the Hash table Fritz remembers the evaluation of positions so when it reaches
that position again (while thinking about THIS move) it knows the evaluation &
doesn't have to recalculate.

Fritz uses Hash really quickly, especially on a 550 so set as much as it lets
you, probably about 80meg.

If you set too much (which Fritz won't let you anyway, but other programs will)
it will use your hard disk (after running out of RAM) and this is VERY BAD and
slow.

However if you are playing really quickly, say 2seconds per move, a big hash
table could be a disadvantage, so set about 4 or 8meg.
