Well I know a lot of chess-players, including some GM's, but I haven't heard anything about this software here at the club. All the Chess Players I know, have high regard for Doveretsky's books, (despite any little squbbles with GM Joel Benenjamin - and Joel is right, Chess training wasn't invented by the Russians, and not all American Player's are lacking in basic technique, and you can easily find plenty of Russian GM's who lack basic abc technique too). Anyway, if this software really exist, and Mr Doveretsky ever wants to successfully market it (and by that, I mean sell it to chess software addicts! like myself, and people here), then he better start advertising & come into the market with a better price point. For example, I find the Chess Academy program (the fact that some modules contain the electronic version of the Informant's Enclopedia of Middle Games or Endgame instruction), and its 3 different entry product price points very tempting. (The delux version with 26,000 tutorial examples, cost around $330 from Gambit-Soft, which is $670 dollars less than $1000, therefor, reasonable). This company offers a lot of material for the money - Games, tutorial material, (and other GM's/IM's select excellent training positions too:)), database features, etc., and (probably), the only reason more people don't have it, is because of the prevalance of Chess Base. And except for the want of adaquet disk space, I would certainly get this program when I have the money. Larry T.
