Hello Vincent, I am not angry about your message ! ... ... ... hm ... I am angry, I think ... 40 in 40 on my machine without ponder for my favorits programs is better than a Diep with a Quard Xeon with 2000 MHz prozessor(s) and 2000 MB for hash with the time control 40 in 120 and ponder ! ... I think I fly at the forum :-))) A Joke ! The Bench of Crafty 17.01 with 48/8 MB Hash is 250.000 NPS on my machine ! Important is the NPS from the Celeron and Pentium III (not Dual or Quad). Here the Pentium III 600 make 400.000 not more (I think). For the next ply Crafty must make 750.000 - 850.000 NPS or a little more ! Crafty is 20 ELO better on the Pentium III 600 MHz, I think ! For Pentium optimize programs is 250.000 (AMD K6-3 450 MHz) to (Pentium III 600 MHz) 400.000 not enough ! A good system is a Dual Celeron with 400 MHz (run with over 500 MHz). Motherboard and the 2 processors can you buy for 500 - 600,-- DM (in Germany). OK this is right ! I think that this machine make 500.000 - 600.000 NPS (program Crafty) ! Have a nice day ! Kind regards Frank
