How is it possible to give a rating to Chess Tiger if you let it play against
unrated programs?
Playing against rated programs, current or past, is absolutely necessary.
The SSDF could play 1000 games against Shredder 4, and this would tell us
nothing about Tiger's rating, as Shredder 4 as no rating yet!
The question is not who is going to win the match. The question is "what is the
winning percentage exactly".
It seems that the elo difference between the two programs is not more than 400
points, so the match will give useful information.
